The international acknowledged designer and entrepreneur Niels Bendtsen (1943) is the son of a Danish furniture maker. In 1951 he emigrated with his parents to Canada, where he created his first furniture designs in his thirties.

In 1981 he founded the Bensen company that successfully produces and markets his own designs. Bendtsen's eye for simplicity and honesty is clearly visible in the sofas he made for Linteloo.
